• The types of information we may collect or that SOV-O Platform users and customers ("you") may provide when you use our services through our website (www.sov-o.com) or download, install, register with, access, or use the SOV-O App (collectively, the "Services").
• Our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
• How we use personal information, and the circumstances under which we may share this information with a third party.

We will only use your personal information in accordance with this policy unless otherwise required by applicable law. We take steps to ensure that the personal information that we collect about you is adequate, relevant, not excessive, and used for limited, limited purposes.

Privacy laws in Canada generally define "personal information" as any information about an identifiable individual, which includes information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person. Personal information does not include business contact information, including your name, title, or business contact information.

This policy applies only to information we collect through your use of the Services on our Website, our App, in email, and other electronic communications sent through or in connection with the Services.

This policy DOES NOT apply to information that:
• We collect offline or on any other SOV-O platforms, apps or websites, including websites you may access through our Services.
• You provide to or is collected by any third party (see Third-Party Information Collection).

Our Services, and any third parties, may have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read before providing information on or through them.

Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices for collecting, processing, and storing your information. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH OUR POLICIES AND PRACTICES, DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THE SERVICES, INCLUDING ACCESSING THE WEBSITE OR DOWNLOADING, REGISTERING WITH, OR USING THE APP. BY ENGAGING WITH THE SERVICES, ACCESSING THE WEBSITE, OR DOWNLOADING, REGISTERING WITH, OR USING THE APP, YOU INDICATE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND, ACCEPT, AND CONSENT TO THE PRACTICES DESCRIBED IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. This policy may change from time to time. Your continued use of the Services after we make changes indicates that you accept and consent to those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.

Definitions

• "Opportunity Seeker" means any individual or entity that offers to perform services or Opportunities through the Services.
• "Opportunity Poster" means any individual or entity that posts Opportunity Services for an Opportunity Seeker or Volunteer to perform through the Services.
• "Opportunity Services" means any service posted by an Opportunity Poster or any service performed by an Opportunity Seeker.
• "User(s)" means any Opportunity Poster, Opportunity Seeker, Volunteer, or any other person or entity using the Services.
• "Volunteer" means any individual who provides unpaid assistance or services through the Services.
• "Wallet" means the escrow account system within the Services that facilitates financial transactions between users.
• "Job" often referred to as opportunities. Can be used interchangeably on the application.

1. Information We Collect About You and How We Collect It

We collect information about you through:
• Direct interactions with you when you provide it to us, for example, by filling in electronic forms, corresponding with us, and submitting your information required to make a user account and engage with our services, such as providing or obtaining an Opportunity Service.
• Interactions between Opportunity Seekers, Opportunity Posters, and Volunteers. To ensure your safety and for quality assurance purposes, we may collect data related to these interactions.
• Automated technologies or interactions, such as when you use the App. This includes usage details, IP addresses, and data from cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies.

The types of information that we collect include:
• Personal information that can directly or indirectly identify you (e.g., name, mailing address, email, phone number, IP address, username, billing details, geolocation).
• ID and verification for Opportunity Seekers, including government photo ID or professional certificates.
• Non-personal or aggregated data (e.g., demographics, usage statistics).
• Access to user messages for safety and quality assurance.
• Technical information such as device type, login info, time zone settings, and usage details.

Depending on your age and jurisdiction, we may require a copy of your ID for verification. These documents are used solely for this purpose and are deleted immediately after processing.

Information You Provide to Us:

When using our Services, you may provide:
• Form submissions (e.g., registration, subscription, service requests, contests).
• Contact details (e.g., email, phone) and correspondence history.
• Transaction records and payment-related information.
• Search queries on the App.
• Geolocation data (city, province/state, country).
• Media content (e.g., pictures, videos, documents related to Opportunity Services).
• User Contributions posted publicly on the App or Website.

While you can adjust privacy settings in your profile, we cannot control the behavior of others who may access your public User Contributions.

Automatic Information Collection and Tracking Technologies:

• Usage Details – such as logs, traffic, resources accessed.
• Device Info – including device ID, IP address, OS, browser, network info, phone number.
• Stored Files – access to file metadata and device-stored info.
• Location Info – real-time location data for geo-matching purposes.

Technologies used:
• Cookies – small files placed on your device. You can block cookies, but it may impact app functionality.
• Web Beacons – invisible graphics used for analytics, traffic metrics, and diagnostics.

If you do not want us to collect this data, do not use the Services or install the App. Disabling location data will render location-based features unusable.

Payment Information:

When making purchases, payments, or subscriptions, you will be asked to submit financial data (e.g., bank, credit/debit card, ACH details). This data is handled by STRIPE under its own privacy policy and terms. We do not access or store your Payment Information.

Third-Party Information Collection:

Some Services or content may link to third-party platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X). These third parties may collect your information under their own policies, which we do not control. You use such services at your own risk.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information:
• To provide you with the Services and its contents.
• To connect Opportunity Seekers and Volunteers with Opportunity Posters and vice versa.
• To provide you with information, products, or services that you request from us.
• To fulfill the purposes for which you provided it or that were described when it was collected.
• To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights in any contracts with you, including for billing, collection, or legal compliance.
• To notify you of Service updates and changes.
• To improve our Services and your overall experience with us.
• To enable you to participate in interactive features within the App.
• For any other purpose with your explicit consent.

Usage information helps us improve our Services and deliver a more personalized experience by enabling us to:
• Estimate audience size and analyze usage patterns.
• Store your preferences to tailor the Services to your interests.
• Speed up your searches.
• Recognize and remember you across sessions.

We also use your location data to better personalize and tailor your experience with our Services.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual.
We may also disclose personal information that we collect or you provide:
• To our subsidiaries and affiliates.
• To a buyer or successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, or sale of assets, as permitted by law.
• To fulfill the purpose for which you provided it.
• For any other purpose disclosed when you provided the information.

• To enforce our rights under contracts, including for billing and collection.

5. Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information

We offer you choices regarding the personal information you provide:
• Tracking Technologies and Advertising: You may refuse cookies by adjusting your browser or device settings. However, disabling cookies may limit access to some parts of the App or affect functionality.
• Location Information: You may enable or disable location access via your device settings. Blocking location access may impact certain features of the App.

6. Data Security

Your Security is Our Priority

The security of your personal information is very important to us. We implement electronic and administrative measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All personal information is stored behind firewalls on secure servers. Payment transactions are encrypted using SSL technology.

The safety of your data also relies on your actions. If you are provided with a password or create one to access certain parts of the App, you are responsible for maintaining its confidentiality. Please avoid sharing your password and be cautious when sharing information in public areas of the App, such as internal messaging.

While we take precautions, no method of data transmission over the Internet or mobile platforms is completely secure. Any transmission is at your own risk. We are not responsible for the circumvention of any privacy settings or security features on the App or Website.

Location of Servers: Our servers are located in Canada and the United States. Your personal information may be processed or stored outside of your province or country. If you use the Services from within Canada, you consent to this transfer and processing across borders.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including meeting any legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations.

In some cases, we may anonymize or aggregate your personal information so that it can no longer be associated with you. We reserve the right to use this de-identified data for legitimate business purposes without further notice or your consent.

8. Children and Users Under the Age of 18

Strictly 18+

The App and our Services are not intended for children or individuals under the age of 18. No one under 18 may provide any information on the App or Website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18.

IF YOU ARE UNDER 18, DO NOT use or provide any information on this App or Website. Do not register, make purchases, use interactive features, or submit any information about yourself including your name, address, phone number, or email.

If we learn that we have received personal information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe we may have such information, please contact us at info@sov-o.com. We will not be responsible or liable for data deleted as a result of users found to be under 18.

Our privacy policy complies with the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), as our services are currently offered only in Ontario, Canada. You have the legal right to request access to and correct the personal information we hold about you. You can do this by logging into your account via the App or Website and updating your profile.

In some cases, the law may allow us to deny access to your personal data—for example, if it has been deleted, anonymized, or is exempt from disclosure. If we are unable to fulfill your request, we will explain the reason, subject to any legal limitations.

10. Withdrawing Your Consent

Please note that withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide certain services or products. We will inform you of any potential consequences at the time of your request to help you make an informed decision.

Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted signifies your acceptance of those changes.
